Blud
Lore
Legends say that Blud has no definite form. He can be invisible like the wind, sometimes taking the shape of an animal or a human. Some have seen him as a black cat, others as a goat with glowing eyes, and occasionally he appears as a mysterious bird whose song enchants and draws people deeper into the forest.
One story tells of a young hunter who often ventured into the woods alone. He knew his forest well—every trail and clearing, you might say. One day, while hunting at sunset, he heard a melodious singing. An invisible force pulled him forward, and the song captivated him more and more. Forgetting everything, the hunter followed the sound, thinking he'd find a rare bird.
The farther he went, the more unfamiliar his surroundings became. Soon, an unknown forest surrounded him on all sides, and familiar paths disappeared. Realizing he was lost, the young hunter tried to turn back, but each time he returned to the same spot—a huge, ancient oak tree.
Panic began to set in. He noticed unusual rustling around him; it seemed as if someone was watching from behind the trees. He remembered the elders' tales of Blud and realized he had become his victim.
Recalling folk remedies, the hunter took off his shirt and put it on inside out. Then he prayed aloud: "God, lead me to the right path!" After that, he started walking until he once again saw a barely visible trail that hadn't been there before. Without hesitation, the hunter followed it and soon emerged at the edge of the familiar forest.
