Buer is a demon marked by a grotesque appearance, keen intellect, and potent healing abilities, and he bears the title “President of the Stars.” The office of President implies both administrative and scientific authority, underscoring his role as mediator between the higher princes of darkness and the executive ranks.

Buer’s appearance varies across sources. The most famous portrayal is a lion’s head with five (sometimes six) goat legs radiating from it, letting him roll like a wheel at phenomenal speed. This form is seen as a “five-spoked chariot,” uniting the symbolism of the Sun (lion’s head) and earth (goat legs).

Buer can also take the shape of a wise centaur and healer, appear as a human figure (genderless and eyeless, symbolizing freedom from outer illusion and reliance on inner knowledge), or manifest as a glowing five-pointed star, affirming his presidency over the celestial spheres.

A classic Fallen Angel from the choir of Cherubim, Buer, according to several cosmogonies, arranged the stars into constellations before his fall—hence his enduring title.
