Vuzhalka
Lore
Vuzhalkas are described as young, long-haired maidens with a serpent's tail instead of legs, adorned with expensive dowries—gold earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and other ornaments.
Vuzhalkas were also attributed with shapeshifting abilities—they could take the form of a snake or a human girl. The only way to distinguish them was by their constant, large golden adornments.
Vuzhalkas typically live in forests near bodies of water, though not necessarily. They love to sit on old, sprawling trees and comb their beautiful hair with golden combs.
They wear no clothing, even though their father, the Serpent King, is very wealthy. Under his protection lie many treasures, so his daughters lack for nothing. Sometimes, a Vuzhalka might lose something from her jewelry. Finding such an item is considered a good omen. It usually brings happiness, and the person who finds it won't fear snake bites. The Vuzhalkas themselves cause no harm to humans, but around the places where they dwell, one can often encounter other, more dangerous creatures. In this way, the Serpent King protects his daughters. Vuzhalka Serpent Princess
