Scox
Lore
In demonology he is known as Scox or Shax and holds the titles of Grand Marquis and Duke of Hell. The demon personifies war, violence, and destruction.
Scox’s appearance depends on the conditions of his materialization; two primary forms have been recorded. The first, ritual form, is that of a large bird—usually a stork or a wood pigeon—with ash-gray or black plumage. The second, his true battle form, is a tall, muscular humanoid with taloned bird legs and the head of a pigeon or stork, its dark feathers crusted with dried blood. That blood is no accident: Scox has a pathological craving for gouging out and devouring the eyes of living foes. The demon’s own eyes are completely black or fiery, reflecting a bottomless void.
Apocryphal sources claim that before the Fall Scox was a high-ranking angel; information about his exact choir has been lost, and the demon himself has never spoken of it. A unique aspect of Scox’s psychology is his attitude toward his own defeat. Unlike blindly devoted fanatics, he retains a pragmatic mind and deeply despises Beelzebub for urging Lucifer and Satan to strike directly at the heart of God’s creation. Scox views that plan as a colossal tactical blunder that guaranteed their total damnation and exile. This suggests that his revolt was driven not by blind rage or chaos but by cold calculation and a thirst for power.
On Earth the demon favors royal palaces, the catacombs of vanished civilizations, and sites of mass murder. Despite his military rank, he operates as a territorial loner, while his legions obey from a distance. Scox possesses a formidable intellect and a pathological urge toward deception, kleptomania, and sadism. He is considered an unrivaled liar, yet instantly detects and punishes falsehood in others. He is always hunting for a loophole to betray. His followers are psychopaths, serial killers, and depraved aristocrats. He is active mainly at night.
